Job description:
We are looking for an experienced Electrician to undertake a variety of tasks relating to setting up and maintaining residential electrical infrastructure. Candidates must have at least four years of field experience in residential wiring and troubleshooting. Your job will involve installing electrical wiring, fixtures and panels in homes, troubleshooting, and service call. Candidates must be able to work as an individual or in a team environment. Job site cleanliness, organization and safety are a must. Long term job seekers only. Primary work is in the Oakland/Berkeley area.
Responsibilities:
Must have your own tools and reliable transportation. Install electrical apparatus, fixtures and equipment. Install safety and distribution components (e.g. switches, lighting, circuit-breaker panels etc.)
Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them. Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc. Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units
Skills:
Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) Must be able to view a work order and know what materials will be needed to get the job done. Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability. Common sense and good judgement are imperative. Excellent physical condition and flexibility to work long shifts and in tight spaces.
Job Type: Full-time (40-50 hours / 4 days per week)
Pay: $25 - $40 per hour (depending on experience)
