Residential Maintenance Technician

Building & Property Maintenance Technician overall responsibilities include:

Must have experience in building maintenance performing repairs and general maintenance work of facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, doors, windows, dry rot repairs and painting tasks for a large portfolio of communities.

Responsibilities:

Physically examine the Property(s) on a regular basis.

Purchase supplies for the Property(s).

Managing repairs. Troubleshooting any needs for the property(s)/project(s). Adhere to all maintenance and purchasing directives including but not limited to (a) property inspections (b) maintenance assignments (c) safety (d) special maintenance items.

Maintain all company property including tools, equipment, and vehicles.

Arrive on time, clean & presentable and with a good attitude.

Must be able to work independently with limited supervision, manage multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines on a routine basis.

Well-organized, problem-solving and attention to details.

Must have the ability to communicate clearly with management team.

Prepare vacant units for future renters

Qualifications:

GED or High School diploma or equivalency.

Requires a minimum of two (2) years general experience in building trades, painting (interior and exterior), repair and replacement maintenance or handy work.

Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Bilingual Spanish/English preferred but not required.

Ability to use email.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures;

Work in an upright standing position for long periods of time;

Crawl in small and tight spaces;

Work in different environmental working conditions (e.g. heat, cold, wind, rain);

Walk and climb stairs, handle, finger, grasp and feel objects and equipment; Reach with hands and arms; Communicate, receive and exchange ideas and information by means of the spoken and written word;

Ability to navigate the property/building quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions;

Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers;

Ability to detect auditory and/or visual emergency alarms.

Compensation: Based on experience.
