Position: Solar and Battery Storage Foreman
Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, five 8-hour days
About Us: Solar Technologies is a prominent solar contractor in the Bay Area, committed to delivering top-quality solar PV projects. We are seeking a skilled Foreman to run 2-3-person crew managing progress, safety, and quality.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Install Solar and Battery Systems: AC and DC PV installations: Enphase and Tesla inverter systems. Storage installations: Tesla and Enphase. Primary focus on battery installs.
Crew Management: Manage a crew of 1-2 other installers.
Communication: Communicate effectively with installers, the project manager, and customers during installations.
Safety Compliance: Follow electric, building, and OSHA code and safety standards. Ensure adherence to company safety policies regarding fall protection and protective equipment.
Physical Tasks: Climb ladders and work at elevated heights of two or more stories on various roof types. Lift 60-pound inverters to chest height. Use tools and teamwork to lift batteries weighing more than 200 lbs.
Tool Operation: Operate power tools, saws, drills, and light-duty equipment, bend conduit, and build electrical junction boxes.
Technical Skills: Read engineered building plans, make AC connections, relocate existing circuits, interpret power flow of Solar, Battery and Usage, and commission systems.
Site Management: Stock vans per job at the warehouse, maintain a clean work site and vehicle, and arrive at job site or shop at the scheduled time.
Documentation: Close out the job pack and upload photos for post-installation and inspection teams.
Driving: Drive a company vehicle.
Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills:
Experience: Previous solar installation required. Battery installation and Foreman experience preferred.
Motivation: Must be highly motivated with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical Proficiency: Proficient with computers, construction math, and understanding engineered plans and manufacturer specs/guides.
Licensing: Must have a valid CA driver’s license and clean driving record for previous 7 years.
