Solar Energy System Installer - Trainee or Level One

Compensation: $22 - $27/hour – Depending on Experience
Schedule: Monday–Thursday 6:30am–5:00 pm(4/10s schedule)

Position Summary:
Our field team builds solar arrays and energy storage systems at our client’s property. Rooftop, ground-mount, interior, exterior, depending on the design. This includes, but is not limited to:
Coordinated, efficient teamwork with your crewmates with a positive, helpful, and constructive attitude
Ability and willingness to take direction and learn from crew lead and team mates.
Ability and experience with powered hand-tools. Must have your own basic electrician’s tools (list can be provided).
Organizing and loading construction components to take to the jobsite
Evaluating jobsite conditions, plans, and instructions to plan an efficient and safe build process on-site.
Building PV racking systems/bending conduit/wiring arrays/installing modules/mounting equipment/pulling wire and commissioning systems safely and according to plans and direction from lead installers
For ground-mount systems: mechanical and manual trenching, sub-surface conduit installation
System review for plan and code compliance; jobsite cleanup
Offloading equipment and tools at warehouse, organized (neat/clean) storage of equipment and tools (ongoing)
Service truck stocking and cleanup (ongoing)
Driving to/from jobsites in company service truck – CA drivers license and clean driving record required.
Preferred: Ability to safely operate trenchers, forklifts, scissor and boom lifts, forward reach lifts, excavators.
Will provide and/or enable training at various levels to encourage proficiency, professionalism and career advancement for those who are motivated to learn.
Basic Requirements:
An understanding of and commitment to working in the solar construction field
Experience in jobsite construction. Solar, electrical, carpentry, or roofing experience is preferred.
Problem solving mindset, mechanical aptitude, oriented towards self-improvement
Understanding of jobsite and construction safety requirements; ability to work safely.
Comfortable working at heights, on and from ladders/scaffolding, on sloping and flat rooftops with safety equipment.
Oriented toward building with quality and providing customer service as priorities
Good team player – supportive and positive attitude
Clean driving record and CA drivers license
Proficient in English language – verbal and written
