Swimming Pool Equipment Repair Technician

We are seeking a skilled Swimming Pool Equipment Repair Technician to join our team at Oxbow Pool and Landscape Contractors. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing and repairing various types of swimming pool equipment, including pumps, filters, heaters, and automated control systems. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to our clients.

Oxbow is located in Napa and has routes in Sonoma, Marin and Napa counties.

Responsibilities:

Perform opening, maintenance, and closing procedures for residential swimming pools

Diagnose and repair pool equipment, including heaters, filters, pumps, cleaners, and automatic controls

Use company vehicles to visit clients and troubleshoot, repair, and replace faulty pool equipment

Test pH levels, treat water with chemicals, and identify leaks in the pool structure

Clean swimming pools and filtration systems using certified equipment

Advise customers on best preventative maintenance practices

Complete necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required

Previous experience as a pool technician with a solid understanding of pool maintenance techniques, chemicals, and equipment

Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate company vehicles

Ability to lift heavy equipment (minimum 75 lbs) and work in various physical conditions

Proficiency in swimming pool chemicals and their properties

Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with clients

Positive attitude and willingness to work independently and as part of a team

Willingness to work full-time during the swimming season (April - November)

Additional Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in plumbing and electrical work is a plus

Ability to repair or replace heaters, pumps, filters, saltwater systems, etc.

Knowledge of pool and spa opening and closing procedures

Familiarity with weekly service tasks such as vacuuming, chemical balancing, and general maintenance

Experience with startup of new plaster pools and installation of pool equipment
