Summary
Turf Star Western is hiring a Turf Equipment Technician (TET) for our Fremont, California location. This role performs diagnostics on all types of landscape, commercial, and contractor equipment. In addition to performing preventative maintenance, duties include small engine overhaul, maintenance on gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, welding and minor painting. The TET will also assist customers in the retail store as needed.
Note: all tools and equipment will be provided by the company.
Job Duties
Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair items that come into the shop
Repair small gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems and/or electrical systems
Performs simple and advanced blade sharpening
Setup new equipment and demonstration equipment
Complete administrative duties such as: submitting parts orders, completing labor logs, and daily electronic reporting of time / attendance / etc.
Requirements
Must be at least 18 years of age
Hold a valid CA driver’s license with a clean vehicle record
Proven experience in small engine repair, hydraulics and diesel
Turf equipment setup or repair experience preferred, but not required
Proven experience in cash-handling
This is an active position, the candidate must be able to stand for long periods of time, and be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted
Able to demonstrate a commitment to safety in the workplace
Able to demonstrate a strong work ethic
We will train on how to use engine and ECU diagnostic software
Pay & Benefits
Shift is Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
Pay range is $19.00 - $28.00 (based on qualifications and professional experience)
