Wanted: Journeyman Carpenter
Established remodeling company located in Oakland, working primarily in the East Bay, seeks well rounded carpenter for full time employment. You must be capable of doing accurate, high quality work for discerning clients. The company offers excellent service to its customers -not only high quality work- but also clear communication and a helpful attitude throughout the job.
The aim is to make the remodeling process as smooth and enjoyable as possible –for all concerned.
The position requires being able to:
- work under the direction of a lead carpenter or foreman
-work independently at times
- work well with others as necessary or direct apprentice carpenters
- read plans
- do accurate, clean work whether forming, framing or finish.
- do takeoffs and plan work.
- deal professionally with clients.
The lead carpenter or foreman does most of this and deals for the most part with clients.
Carpenters are expected to provide their own hand and small power tools. The company provides larger more expensive tools such as roto hammers, planers, etc.
