The Delivery Driver operates our fleet of vehicles with Safety and efficiency as the most important goal. We have a 200 mile maximum delivery radius and bring fresh or frozen meat to retailers, grocers, restaurants, and ranchers. They maintain a positive attitude and represent our company with professionalism. Communication with Account Managers is imperative to determine daily tasks, routes, and vehicle allocation.
With experience, a driver can help with most tasks around the shop that don’t require an all day presence until orders are loaded and the route is ready to hit the road. Must be flexible and patient to deal with not only changing road conditions but also customer expectations and delivery windows or sudden route changes.
Key Performance Outcomes:
100% Safety record for accidents, minimize harsh braking and turning events. Dash Cameras are not altered or blocked
The route is followed according to the Account Managers specification
Product must always be kept cold and safe, no spoilage due to negligence
Vehicle maintenance must be dealt with immediately, report all issues as soon as they are identified
All invoices are signed and boxes highlighted to indicate proper load out and delivery
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver meat to our customers in a refrigerated vehicle,
All pallets are in working order and we have at least 6 on site, confirm boxes are built for production team
Help facilitate deliveries after regular route is over, to and from Dutton
Allow processing team room to operate, only take full carts not one box at a time
Communicate with Account Managers and Team leads rather than production team for ETA
As necessary, Help make burgers, do bank runs, fill gas and propane tanks, clean vehicles inside and out.
Keep doors on vehicles shut when their AC units are running
Report any mechanical issues or paperwork documentation errors immediately
Qualifications:
2+ years in driving, delivery work, or similar vehicle related job
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Job Expectations: Work with Sprinter Vans and Box Trucks. Operate all equipment and handle utensils safely. Maintain high sanitation standards. Work with a sense of urgency.
REQUIRED SKILLS
A valid driver's license
Knowledge of how to handle materials safely
Familiarity with using navigation systems
Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule
Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving
Physical ability to load and unload heavy cargo
Following the best practices for safety, both on the road and while loading or unloading a truck
Communicating with dispatchers, drivers and other team members to make deliveries
Meeting delivery deadlines
Performing basic truck maintenance
Tracking shipments and deliveries
Obtaining client or customer signatures when needed
Reliable, responsible, honest, and punctual
Flexible to change
Work with a sense of urgency
A great communicator with clear writing skills
Passionate for local small business and the food industry
Desire for collaborative work environment, while able to work independently
Able to work in a temperature controlled environment (below 40 F degree)
Must be able to stand 8 hours; Must be able to sit 8 hours
Must be able to lift 50 lbs
