We are looking for a motivated and reliable person to perform inspections (and occasional repairs) of metal fire escape systems in San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area. We will offer job-specific training but you should be familiar and comfortable working with basic power tools, extension ladders, A-frame ladders, and climbing multi-story fire escapes.
Requirements of the job include (but are not limited to):
climbing ladders/fire escapes
Must have clean driver’s license with minimum 10 years’ experience for insurance - DO NOT APPLY WITHOUT
lifting and setting up extension ladders, up to 50 pounds overhead
carrying heavy objects and retracting heavy ladders with crank handles
cleaning, lubricating and servicing fire escape ladders
replacing rusted parts
painting finished work
documenting work via phone app and field reports
safely driving the work pickup truck
communicating directly with clients and office staff
other duties as assigned
The ideal candidate should have an eye for detail and a STRONG desire to work safely. Candidates must have a clean DMV record (and driving history with minimum 10 years’ experience that is approved by insurance), be able to provide a resume of past work history and speak / write clear English. Past work experience with painting from ladders and/or scaffolding is a plus. Knowledge of hand and power tools is a definite plus. DMV, background check and drug screening will be required for full-time employment. We look forward to meeting you!
