SUMMARY
The Web Specialist will help with website-related tasks for our “101” family of websites (for examples, see Arizona Disability Benefits 101: https://az.db101.org and Minnesota Housing Benefits 101: https://mn.hb101.org). The primary function will be to enter, prepare, post, and check content onto our various websites via our proprietary content management system. Additionally the Web Specialist will provide content quality assurance and help with various website maintenance tasks, including adding and checking links, parameters, and making aesthetic improvements. We will provide training on this web editing process, which uses a Microsoft Word-like interface.
We are seeking an independent contractor with basic knowledge of websites, html, and general computer skills, who is eager to expand their skill set and build their resume in these areas. The position requires someone who is computer/internet literate, but coding knowledge is not necessary.
We are flexible about hours per week. The job is remote.
EFW is a virtual office, with headquarters in Berkeley, California, so you must be able to provide your own workspace. It is possible to work remotely from outside the Bay Area.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Work cooperatively with the team and incorporate feedback into work
Manage and organize your own work flow and meet project deadlines
Track completion of tasks and prepare invoice documents
The position requires limited day-to-day supervision. Because of the limited supervision, a highly motivated, curious, self-starter will be most successful in this role.
