We are looking for an all-around helper and assistant for our mother. She lives independently in her own apartment and needs help with day-to-day household upkeep, shopping, errands, and companionship.
She does not need help with any personal care.
Experienced candidates only.
Job description:
Light housekeeping as needed.
Take care of grocery shopping (both independently and sometimes with her along).
Other errands/shopping (hardware store, Rite Aid, pick up prepared food downtown, etc); sometimes alone, sometimes with her along.
Once in a while assist her with some easy meal prep/simple cooking.
Help with household projects/cleaning out closets, organizing, etc.
Companionship, going for walks, etc. accompany her to see local sights/countryside, go downtown together to visit shops, restaurants, etc.
Drive her to various appointmentsmostly the ones in Medford.
This is a part-time position, 2 or 3 days a week, with the possibility of additional days or hours.
Preferred: Tuesdays and Thursdays 12:00 - 4:00 pm
Monday 12:00-4:00 pm is a second choice option.
Pay dependent on the level of experience, $18- $20 range
Also necessary: a clean driving record and the ability and willingness to drive our mother around, and also to perform driving errands for her, as part of your work hours.
The ideal candidate will enjoy spending time with older adults who may be somewhat socially isolated, and is flexible, patient, and kind.
References preferred.
