Robert Half is searching for an Accounts Payable Supervisor in the San Luis Obispo area for our client who is a dynamic non-profit. They are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join the finance team as an Accounts Payable Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

Lead and manage the accounts payable team, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure efficient and accurate processing of invoices and payments.

Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting continuous improvement and professional development.

Process Oversight:

Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, including the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices, expense reports, and employee reimbursements.

Review and approve payment batches, ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.

Assist with Vendor Relations:

Maintain strong relationships with vendors and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.

Negotiate payment terms and discounts with vendors to optimize cash flow and enhance relationships.

Financial Reporting:

Generate regular reports on accounts payable activities, providing insights into trends, variances, and opportunities for process improvement.

Collaborate with the finance team to contribute to accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Compliance and Controls:

Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies, identifying and implementing improvements as needed.

Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations related to accounts payable.

Process Improvement:

Proactively identify opportunities to streamline accounts payable processes, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.

Implement best practices to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of the accounts payable function.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree is required, degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is a plus!

2 years of experience in accounts payable, with 1+ years in a supervisory role.

Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
