Works closely with: CFO, Accounting Managers and Staff

Full-Time Position | In our SLO Office (no remote work) | Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm

Salary Range | $22-$32 Per Hour

Job Description

The HR/Payroll Assistant at Poly Performance assists the Chief Financial Officer and is a crucial member of the accounting department. The HR/Payroll Assistant works closely with the accounting manager and department managers to ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws. This position requires the highest degree of accuracy, discretion, and confidentiality. The ideal candidate will be professional, approachable, and possess excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Utilize Payroll and HR software to accurately process bi-weekly payroll.

Manage employee personnel files and maintain strict confidentiality.

Work closely with the CFO to administer and maintain a competitive benefits program.

Organize required HR training in harassment prevention, evacuation/safety, and workplace violence prevention.

Assist staff with health benefits, IRA enrollment, and annual renewals.

Process workers’ compensation claims and reporting.

Act as employee liaison for all HR/payroll systems and benefit program providers.

Organize company events and work to facilitate a happy, healthy, culture and work environment.

Accurately respond to payroll and HR-related report requests.

Conduct new hire orientations, ensuring compliance with California new-hire notice requirements.

Required Skills and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or closely related field.

Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in HR, payroll, or accounting.

Must be a highly organized individual.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite of software applications.

Effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English.

Preferred Skills and Experience

Advanced Excel Skills.

Experience with Paycom software systems.

Experience with Delmiaworks and NetSuite ERP systems.
