Staff Accountant II

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Staff Accountant II to bring strong accounting expertise to our growing company. This role offers significant potential for career advancement and the opportunity to make a substantial impact on our company's future.

As an integral part of the Finance Team, you will play a key role in financial reporting, planning, and accounting processes, collaborating closely with the leadership team. This dynamic role offers opportunities to take on greater responsibilities and grow alongside our expanding company.

Location Preference:

While we welcome applications from qualified candidates, strong preference will be given to candidates who currently reside in the Central Coast region of California (Or are in the process of relocating). This position requires in-office presence at our headquarters in Arroyo Grande, California.

Responsibilities:

Oversee day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations through accurate

financial reporting and tax/statutory compliance.

Contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities with actionable financial analysis.

Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.

Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to ensure accurate financial data and reporting.

Provide strategic insights to support long-term financial planning and company growth initiatives.

Help manage payroll processes, including compliance, process improvements, and oversight of payroll reporting and reconciliation.

Evaluate and recommend customer credit limits.

Handle sales tax filings and business property tax compliance.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

5-7 years of accounting experience, preferably within small to medium-sized companies.

Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and budgeting processes.

Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or ERP systems) is required.

Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

Public Accounting experience preferred.

Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with senior management.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
