Help Wanted - Lifeguard Position at Avila Hot Springs

Avila Hot Springs is a small resort hosting a hot springs pool and a 250,000 gallon pool with 2 water slides. Other offerings include bike rentals, massages and group/party reservation hosting. Avila Hot Springs has been operating for almost 100 years and is one of the closest hot springs to the ocean on the California coast.
Lifeguards at Avila Hot Springs are responsible for supervising and communicating hazards to patrons in our facility's pool and hot springs pool, administering emergency medical care, assessing and removing hazards at the facility. Lifeguards are also our company's pool area attendants, required to perform maintenance around the pool, bathrooms and deck.
-Lifeguards are expected to be courteous, helpful, vigilant and professional in attitude and uniform.
-Being comfortable operating outside in all types of weather is a must.
-Customer service experience is a plus although professionalism, politeness and good manners are important keys to success.
Qualified candidates possess current American Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid/CPR and Title 22 certifications. Lifeguard classes may be available for candidates looking to get certified. Lifeguards at our facility are asked to pass a pre-hiring swim test consisting of a timed 250 meter swim, 2 minutes treading water (hands held under arms or out of water), and a 20 m long lifeguard brick retrieval test. Candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds on dry ground. Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification holders are able to teach swim lessons at our facility.
