I am Ron and my wife is Maria. After 20 years in the corporate world, I left it to establish Seniors Helping Seniors® SLO County (https://SeniorCareSLO.com/). We are licensed (HCO# 404700031) and building our SLO County team! I myself am a senior seeking more like-minded seniors who wish to join with us, share life experience with peers, help them maintain their independence as long as possible, and be blessed in the process. We served our first senior in Dec 2022; since then we have provided more than 24,800 hours of service to 101 seniors! We are also an approved Veterans Health Administration (VHA) community provider of in-home veterans services, currently serving 19 veteran heroes - and we're just getting started!
Are you a vibrant senior who wants to enable older seniors to stay in their homes and avoid institutionalization as long as possible - or perhaps provide respite for a family caregiver? Or, do you think you can understand and support someone in that position, offering respect and a helping hand? We are so very excited about how you would bring your own unique depth of life experience.
We provide paid training and will help you through the process of being listed on the CA Department of Social Services Home Care Aide Registry as well as securing the required background checks. Working hours will be flexible, depending on your availability. We match you up with a compatible senior who needs your companionship and assistance. Duties will be non-medical and may include light housework or yardwork, meal preparation, medication reminders, driving to appointments, and in some cases assistance with the activities of daily living.
