Position Summary:

The Café Supervisor at Unique Boba Flavors LLC is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing daily café operations, supporting and mentoring the team, and ensuring top-tier guest experiences. Supervisors help bridge the gap between shift leadership and store management by providing hands-on guidance and operational oversight.

This role is not a desk job…you’ll be expected to jump behind the bar, take orders, make drinks, and lead by example, especially during peak hours. As Supervisor, you’ll cultivate a collaborative, energetic, and efficient atmosphere that aligns with our community-first boba culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Operations Oversight:

Supervise front- and back-of-house café operations to ensure consistency, efficiency, and cleanliness.

Ensure all stations are fully operational and stocked throughout the shift.

Complete opening/closing duties, cash handling, shift documentation, and supply checks.

Monitor daily performance of team members and support with coaching and real-time feedback.

Hands-On Support:

Step in to make drinks or take orders when the café is busy or short-staffed.

Ensure all beverages and food items meet quality and presentation standards.

Proactively monitor customer flow and adjust team roles and coverage as needed.

Customer Experience:

Model exceptional guest service and respond to customer concerns with professionalism.

Ensure that the café maintains a warm, welcoming, and clean atmosphere.

Coach team members on how to handle high-pressure or service-related situations calmly.

Training & Team Development:

Support the onboarding and training of new hires.

Reinforce company policies, health and safety protocols, and service standards.

Partner with the Store Manager to identify team development opportunities.

Inventory & Quality Control:

Assist with inventory management, delivery checks, and stock rotation (FIFO).

Monitor the freshness and preparation of ingredients, especially cooked boba and toppings.

Report supply shortages and equipment issues to the Store Manager promptly.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a café, boba shop, or fast-casual food environment.

At least 1 year in a leadership, keyholder, or supervisory position.

Able to jump in and assist with drink-making or order-taking when needed.

Familiarity with safety, cleanliness, and food-handling standards.

Effective communication and team leadership skills.

Ability to stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 40 lbs.

Must be available to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

Food Handler Card (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).

ServSafe Manager Certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days).

Proficiency with POS systems (Square, Clover, Toast, etc.).

Strong interest in the boba tea space and café innovation.

Bilingual or multilingual is a plus!

Working Conditions:

Fast-paced café environment requiring standing, walking, reaching, bending, and lifting.

Exposure to hot equipment, refrigerated storage, and cleaning chemicals.

Shift times may vary, including mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.

ADA & EEO Statement:

Unique Boba Flavors LLC is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer. We’re committed to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment for both our team and our community.
