Oki Kohi Espresso Bar is seeking to hire a part-time (20-25 hrs./wk) cashier/food prep/barista. Barista experience is highly preferred, but not required. Food prep experience is also highly preferred, but also not required. All employees are trained to assist with the preparation of food items such as baos, dumplings, egg rolls, some basic baked desserts, etc. Full shifts are typically from 9a-4:15p; Half-shifts are from 10a-2p or 12p-4p, but flexible. Transition to full-time as well as advancement to assistant manager or manager in 3-6 months is possible.
CASHIER/BARISTA Primary Duties include: greeting and interacting with customers; taking orders; making coffee and espresso drinks; operating the cash register and POS system; maintaining beverage and front counter supply inventories; assisting with food prep; packaging takeout and delivery orders; supporting the kitchen and maintenance staff as necessary; and other similar tasks.
The position starts at a minimum of $18 per hour plus tip share (typically $2-3 per hour additional). All employees are required, at their own expense, to have or obtain a California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hiring and maintain validity of the Card throughout employment. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification document form upon hire.
