We are currently hiring a chef for Ingleside Assisted Living Communities

Job Summary:

The Chef is responsible for creating and preparing nutritious and appetizing meals for the residents of our assisted living community. The Chef will ensure that all meals are prepared in accordance with dietary needs, taste preferences, and regulatory requirements. The Chef will work closely with the dietary staff and management team to maintain high standards of quality and service while also ensuring a safe and clean kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare nutritious, flavorful, and visually appealing meals for residents.

Develop and maintain menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of the residents.

Ensure that all meals are prepared in compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations.

Oversee and manage kitchen staff to ensure quality and timely delivery of meals.

Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.

Conduct regular inspections of the kitchen and dining areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Maintain accurate records of meal preparation, inventory, and food costs.

Collaborate with the dietary staff and management team to develop and implement policies and procedures for meal service.

Ensure that all kitchen equipment is well-maintained, clean, and in good working order.

Participate in training programs and continuing education opportunities to stay up-to-date on industry trends and regulations.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or Bachelor’s degree in culinary arts or related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably in a senior living or healthcare setting.

Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.

Strong culinary skills and knowledge of nutrition and special diets.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.

Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Physical Demands:

The Chef must be able to stand for extended periods of time, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and work in a hot and fast-paced kitchen environment. The position may require occasional evening, weekend, and holiday work.
