Mitchella is looking for a fun and dynamic individual to be part of our small but effective management team, the Tasting Room Manager is responsible for Tasting Room operations, implementation, and management of Sales and Marketing initiatives, including social media. This is an hourly full-time position requiring the ability to work weekends and holidays, as well as flexibility in scheduling to meet business needs.

Essential Functions

- Tasting Room Operation including opening and closing, keeping wine stocked, and shipping. This includes performing various housekeeping duties to maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including sweeping floors, checking the bathroom, emptying trash cans, and checking for abandoned trash or glasses.

- Provide exceptional customer service.

- Pour wine and educate the customer on Mitchellas history and wines.

- Ensure Health Department regulations are followed.

- Lead team to meet or exceed sales goals based on annual budget.

- Purchasing & Receiving of Merchandise, pricing, and display.

- Train and motivate staff in accordance with prevailing Federal and State labor laws and proper alcohol awareness.

- Nurture an atmosphere of teamwork and enthusiastic employee relations among the Tasting Room staff.

- Responsible for documenting and reporting on appropriate metrics associated with the tasting room operations.

- Work with the Wine Club Manager on promotion and execution of Wine Club promotions, events, and monthly newsletter.

- Assist with special projects, promotions, and other responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience/Skills

- At least 2 years of experience in the wine industry that includes sales and customer service.

- Bachelors degree in Marketing, Management, related field or equivalent experience preferred.

- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

- Highly accurate, organized and detail oriented, with strong time management skills.

- Self-motivated and willing to assume additional responsibilities.

- Operates well under deadline and in a high degree of pressure.

- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Publisher or Canva, and Outlook. Prior experience with POS systems; web-savvy.

- Must be able to stand/walk for long periods of time when necessary.

- Reaching, grasping, bending, twisting, and lifting items up to 45 lbs.

- The employee is occasionally required to climb and balance, stoop, kneel and crouch.

- Routine and reliable attendance.

- Must be 21 years of age or older and possess a valid California Drivers License.
