We are actively seeking an experienced Cook to join our team and help lead by example. Qualified applicants should be able to provide customers with delicious product in a timely manner, have experience working in a team environment and have a strong commitment to great customer service. Our open-concept kitchen boasts a large, wood-fired oven and is the focal point of the dining experience at Bear & The Wren. We're a small, hardworking team and we love what we do!
Our BOH team works together seamlessly to achieve efficiency between (5) different stations for service. Dough management, ticket management and pizza topping, temperature control of the wood-fire oven and pizza cooking are overseen by (3) cooks. Expo is then responsible for cutting and finishing all pizzas, plating and finishing all wood-fired dishes, and communicating with FOH team members for food running. Finally, our salad line tosses and assembles all salads and prepares desserts.
Candidates must have:
General knowledge of pizza making process
Ability to learn all food preparation procedures and operate kitchen equipment
Ability to work safely and neatly
Ability to prepare food in a timely manner
Ability to explain dishes to FOH team and customers
Strong communication skills to work successfully in a team environment
Preferred Candidates will also have experience with the following:
Dough mixing, balling, and proofing
Stretching dough by hand
Utilizing pizza peel/palino
Wood-fire oven
Working efficiently and multitasking in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
