Part-time work with potential for full time available for the right fit!
Come work in our brand new kitchen in Morro Bay!
Positions include:
Early bake off, operate the ovens and pack for deliveries (3am start time)
Garnish & delivery (4:30a-5:15a start times)
Production baker (scones, cookies, bread) a.m, mid-day, or afternoon shifts
Lamination- croissant production & shaping
( must be available T, W, Th)
Dishwasher/ kitchen prep- (6a start time, limited hours)

Scout Coffee is an independent, family owned and operated business with 2 (almost 3) cafes and one coffee roasting company. Scout has been mentioned in Sunset Magazine, the NY times, LA Magazine, Santa Barbara magazine, Barista magazine, as well as 805 and SLOlife. Scout is known for high quality coffee and pastries, a friendly staff, and inspiring spaces.
A brief list of duties include:
Production bake shift work:
Portioning and baking muffins, quick breads, cookies, and scones
Weighing and prepping ingredients
Mixing batters and doughs
Garnishing and finishing baked items
Organizing inventory
Ordering from suppliers
Stocking and maintaining pastry case
Coordinating details for catering requests/ special events
Dish washing and cleaning equipment and work space
Able to bend, move, and lift up to 50 pounds.
All bakers must:
Have attention to detail from weighing ingredients, to monitoring bake times, to finishing a pastry’s final look
Be organized
Manage priorities and plan well
Time efficient
Hard working: kitchen work is a work out, and there’s a lot of it! Keeping the pace up is important
Be friendly - no “back of house vs. front of house” here!
Willing to learn the ways we do things without ego
Team player -the best employees are always the ones that are trying to set up each other and the next shift for success
Work clean and follow all health guidelines- you know we’re all about that 100% for health inspections
Love food, flavors, feeding people.
