FRONT SERVER
This position reports to the Restaurant Manager and Hospitality Director. Typical workweek is 10 am 5 pm Thursday through Sunday. Our restaurant requires an energetic, professional staff member who has an excellent track record in hospitality and who thrives in a fast-paced service environment. The focus is on professionalism and providing a superior customer experience. The ideal candidates must possess in-depth knowledge about Food & Beverage in addition to superior customer relations skills. Excellent communication is essential to build a rapport with guests and ability to lead a team.

Job Duties:
Able to communicate clearly and possess a good command of verbal and written English. Additional food language skills (Greek, French or Italian) would be a distinct advantage and benefit
A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an upscale restaurant with a wine list
Excellent Customer Service Skills and ability to understand and respond to individual guests needs and requirements
A genuine interest and understanding in food and drink wine knowledge is essential
Exceptional communication and presentational skills
Problem solving skills
Ability to think on your feet and under pressure whilst maintaining a positive outlook and attention to detail
Able to organize time effectively, forward plan and prioritize tasks to ensure work load is balanced and urgent situations are dealt with immediately. Ability to multitask
Ability to work as part of a small team and independently and use initiative
A natural ability and confidence to sell / promote Niner Estates wine and products with distinct degree of knowledge and passion.
A distinct degree of flexibility is required within this job role and will include the following tasks on a daily / weekly basis:
Showing guests to tables during Lunch & Dinner service
Greeting and escorting guests with a professional and positive attitude
Oversee the flow of guests within the restaurant
Following a set sequence of service and procedures
Assist the staff during service with whatever they need, helping with running food, taking orders, pouring wine, clearing tables or anything else the service may dictate
Oversee and pro-actively deal with guest queries and complaints
Advising guests on menus & beverage choices and promoting the Chefs Menu
Assist in the setup, breakdown and execution of events
Promote special In-House events eg. Winemakers Dinners, Private Dinners, Tasting sessions
Ability to develop a working knowledge of Wine Direct and Fare Harbor
Qualifications and Skills:
Exemplary attendance and willingness to do whatever it takes
Minimum 1 year working as a server in an upscale restaurant
Must be able to lift 50 lbs, bend, stretch, stand for extended periods of time, climb stairs, reach, twist, sit, walk, and/or run.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time (8 hours)
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Basic math / financial calculations.
Possess Food Handlers certificate or acquire one within 30 days of being hired

Niner Wine Estates is a family owned company that makes 100% estate grown wines from three vineyards in Paso Robles and Edna Valley. We currently farm a total of 223 acres and the integration of farming and winemaking is the foundation of everything we do. Our tasting room is located right off the 46 West in Paso Robles against the backdrop of Heart Hill Vineyard.
