Job Description
Our winery is located in the beautiful Santa Ynez Valley. Our small team works exclusively with our organic, estate grown fruit. We love experiments both in the vineyard and the cellar. We enjoy working together with positive attitudes and an eye for quality. The successful candidate will work closely with the winemaking team in all areas of winemaking.
Job duties may include, but are not limited to:
-Sanitation
-Vineyard sampling and monitoring
-Sample processing and analysis
-Basic lab analyses
-Detailed and accurate record keeping (experience with Innovint a plus)
-Operating all winery equipment
-Keeping the cellar and equipment clean and organized
-Receiving, processing, and sorting grapes
-Communicating with winemakers
-Fermentation management including pumpovers, punchdowns, delastage and additions.
-Barrel Work
An ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
-Two previous harvests working in a small boutique winery cellar (ideal but not required).
-Forklift experience
-Basic lab experience
-Ability to climb ladders and lift 50 lbs
-Ability to work long hours including weekends
-Strong, motivated work ethic
-A positive, can-do attitude
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-A team player
-Extreme attention to detail
-A passion for wine
Start and end dates are not set yet, but will be approximately late August until Thanksgiving. Pay will depend on experience.
