Searching for an aide for our young adult son with autism. He is sweet, very active and verbal. The position is in a private home and includes teaching self help skills(learning to shave, brush hair, etc) as well as encouraging more language acquisition. Reading books with a focus on teaching reading comprehension, physical therapy exercise guidance, supervision of chores he is learning to do independently. Some experience with teaching individuals with autism is required. Speech and language background very useful. He is an outstanding pianist, so any type of music background is a plus, but not required. He also enjoys yoga and swimming. House is fenced and gated so there's plenty of time spent outside in the country.We also have dogs. Our son requires consistency and someone who is reliable.
Position is about 20 hrs. weekly( 4 days a week). Exact schedule to be determined.
Most Sundays . Occasional Saturdays. Weekday schedule needs to be discussed to consider other caregivers and your availability.
CPR and first aide training necessary. DOJ background check required.
