Quadrplegic man looking for minimal hrs. caregiver. Must be willing to go through IHSS application process if not already an IHSS approved provider - Very simple process and does not take long. No prior experience necessary, training provided to anyone interested. Looking to fill at least three morning shifts and 2 evening shifts as soon as possible.
Morning Shift (Min: 1.5 Hrs. Max: 3 Hrs.) :
Prepares him for the day by doing the following:
Remove safety restraints and bedding precautions
Bathe client using bed bath technique
Light wound care/prevention (replacing band-aids)
Light stretching
Dressing (requires rolling body onto his side)
PHYSICAL transfer client from bed to mobility chair using sliding board technique.
Assisting with daily essentials (brushing hair and teeth, shaving, taking meds, etc.)
Heating, serving and cleaning a very light breakfast.
Night Shift (Min. 1 Hr. Max 2.5 Hrs.)
Prepares him for sleep by doing the following:
Disrobing (requires rolling body onto his side)
Prepare bedding
PHYSICAL transfer from mobility chair to bed
Engage safety restraints
Assist with drinking water/taking night meds
Assess overall wellbeing for restful sleep.
Any experience with bowel management for night shift is not required but very highly appreciated.
