Atascadero Hills Dental is a fast growing, dental partnership co-owned by two doctor brothers, Drs Nathan and Preston Beck. We are located on the Central Coast area of California in the quiet City of Atascadero. We are currently seeking a talented & enthusiastic Registered Dental Assistant to join our team.
The focus at Atascadero Hills Dental is to provide fantastic dental experiences for our patients. RDAs are a very important part of our efforts, their responsibilities include:
1. Ensure operatories and the patient care team is ready including: prepare dental instruments, fillings, compounds, and various dental materials.
2. Ensure patients are greeted and brought back on-time for their appointments.
3. Ensure patients are comfortable and have adequate understanding of their treatment and appointment with any questions answered.
4. Perform any needed pre-treatment x-rays, intra-oral procedures, etc as needed to ensure patient is ready for their scheduled treatment.
5. Confirm details and any updates with the dentist before treatment begins. Provide optimum chairside assistance during examinations and dental treatments. Duties include:
a. Sound understanding of treatments including: procedural sequence, instruments, equipment, tools and materials to provide optimum dental chairside assistance.
6. Advise patients on medications and practices to avoid dental complications.
7. Record complete notes on the patient chart regarding notable details of the treatment provided and doctor recommendations.
8. At the conclusion of appointments, walk with patients to the close-out desk and update the front desk on treatment completed and next -visit recommendations.
9. Other RDA duties include:
a. Set up and breakdown of operatories, sterilization of instruments and all services per OSHA guidelines.
b. Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment.
c. Assist with infection control and manage medical and dental emergencies when necessary.
d. Instruct patients in proper oral hygiene and care.
10. Additional RDA experience and understanding in these areas are a plus:
a. Efficient use of dental technology and equipment including CBCT images, x-ray, inter-oral cameras and in-house design and milling.
b. Various lab duties including fabrication of flippers, bite guards, Occlusal orthodontics, retainers, Whitening trays, partial/full denture repairs. Pouring and trimming of models and diecasts to be sent to labs.
c. Implant treatment experience and assistance.
d. Hygiene assistance including: corona polishing and fluoride and sealant treatments.
e. Ordering, budgeting, and restocking for practice supplies.
f. Nitrous monitoring.
g. Experience with Open Dental or Dentrix patient software.
h. Personal strengths in communication, accountability and integrity.
i. Back-office leadership skills and experience.
j. Responsible attendance and punctuality record.
