Job Title: Residential Broadband Technician

The RamTech Inc currently seeks a Broadband Technician, for our office in San Luis Obispo, CA. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Install, move, change and/or disconnect video, data, music/audio, and other voice communications systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Test and resolve problems analog/digital video, high-speed data, phone,
- Identify problems from network, drop, account or customer wiring and CPE issues.
- Install, service and support hubs, routers, wireless devices, AP's, WiFi and voice hardware services.
- Process, test and/or verify telephone porting/native assignments and activations for dial tone, call features, hunting configurations and line activations.
- Accurately complete paperwork associated with each transaction such as daily/monthly reports, audits, CLI logbook, vehicle inspections, material/tools requisitions
- Possess good communication skills and have the ability to relate to customers in a positive and quality oriented style ensuring their expectations are exceeded in every way.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent required.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that complies with company policy.
- Knowledge of and details about performing video, high-speed data, wireless and voice services (VoIP or Circuit Switched) installations to customers is very useful.
- Successful completion of pre-hire screening test(s).
- Working knowledge in the use of various tools and equipment, mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in an outside environment virtually 100 percent of the time.
- Endure exposure to inclement weather, insects, reptiles, and animals.
- Endure exposure to confined spaces in attics and crawl spaces.
- Ability to work closely with customers with varying levels of skill and knowledge to resolve service problems in meeting their expectations.
- Have own truck, van or suv that can accommodate 28' ladder.
- Have own tools.
- Lift up to 80lbs.
