United Staffing Associates is recruiting on behalf of a local cemetery for a skilled, reliable, and detail-oriented Groundskeeper to help maintain beautiful and respectful grounds. This role involves hands-on work in landscaping, grounds maintenance, and equipment operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain lawns, landscaped areas, and grave sites, including trimming, weeding, and pruning.
In accordance with policy, collect and remove debris, flowers, and other materials to keep grounds clean and orderly.
Operate and perform routine maintenance on landscaping and groundskeeping equipment.
Assist with irrigation system upkeep and general watering tasks.
Support minor landscaping and concrete work, including leveling markers and assisting with installations.
Perform basic repairs on tools, equipment, and facilities as needed.
Implement pest and weed control measures.
Follow safety procedures and participate in safety meetings.
Communicate and work closely with management, following established procedures and completing assigned tasks independently and to standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
High school diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or related work.
Valid California driver’s license and proof of insurance.
Ability to operate and maintain landscaping equipment safely, including tractors.
Knowledge of basic plant care and disease recognition.
Strong attention to detail and a professional, courteous demeanor.
Schedule & Compensation:
The schedule will be approximately 30 hours per week. The typical schedule will include six-hour shifts Monday – Friday, with variability based on the cemetery needs. This includes working weekend shifts as needed for burial services.
$17–$20/hour DOE
