We are a San Luis Obispo general contractor focusing on custom homes, remodels and home improvements. We are seeking a construction superintendent with experience. The superintendent is responsible for all the field operations on the construction project(s) assigned and for the daily work schedule of the company crew. Directly supervise the crew, subcontractors and vendors. Must demonstrate strong leadership, organization and time management in addition, the applicant should have excellent written & verbal communication and client service skills. Needs a thorough understanding of construction and the contract documents, including the client contract/budget, subcontract agreements, plans and specifications. Must have clean DMV driving record and be able to pass a pre employment drug test.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work independently and lead projects in an efficient and effective manner.
Coordinate, direct and monitor the activities of subcontractors and vendors.
Work directly with the office to complete required subcontractor documents.
Solicit bids/proposals for each project trade.
Review and authorize bids, subcontracts, change orders and invoices for assigned projects to meet budgets.
Monitoring of job sites to ensure a high level of workmanship is maintained throughout the project.
Observe and enforce safety regulations and company policies, maintaining a safe work environment at all times.
Assume primary responsibility for scheduling and expediting materials and equipment for the company, subcontractors or vendors.
Maintain accurate written records of job activity/results, job schedules, client meetings, progress lists to be provided to the office.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
At least 5 years of supervision experience.
A varied and in-depth knowledge of residential construction.
Strong ability to read and understand construction documents.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Dependable, punctual, reliable
Computer knowledge and efficiency, including Microsoft Office Products.
