Job Title: Deckhand – Sportfishing Charter Boat

Job Type: Full Time or Part Time / Seasonal
Compensation: $16.50/hour, plus tips
About Us:
We are a premier sportfishing charter operation out of Morro Bay, offering daily fishing trips aboard two vessels. We're currently looking for hardworking, and personable Deckhands to join our crews. The boats run day trips starting as early as 5am, ranging in length from 4 hour trips to 12 hour trips; no overnight trips. Position can be filled with full time or part time candidates, we are willing to accommodate scheduling for the right, reliable candidate.
Job Description:
As a deckhand, you’ll be an essential part of our team, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and successful trip for all guests. From rigging bait and assisting with fish, to maintaining cleanliness and offering top-notch customer service, you'll help keep the boat running smoothly and professionally.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the captain with daily operations and guest services
- Rig bait, safely handle fish and fishing gear assisting guests during charters
- Clean and maintain fishing gear, deck, and boat before and after trips
- Help ensure safety protocols are followed at all times
- Fillet fish
- Galley skills a plus, prepare breakfast and lunch for guests
- Provide an excellent customer service experience to all passengers
Requirements:
- Previous sport or commercial fishing experience preferred (but will train the right candidate)
- Ability to work early mornings, weekends, and long days on the water
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude
- Must be able to lift [50 lbs] and handle physically demanding tasks
- Knowledge of local fish species and techniques a plus (but will train the right candidate)
- Must be able to pass drug test to be added to USCG compliant consortium Mandatory
