As a fence installer helper your primary responsibility is to assist lead fence installers in the preparation, installation, and cleanup of fences for residential, commercial and industrial properties. Your role will involve various tasks related to fence installation, preparation, maintenance, and cleanup. However, also show initiative without being asked and to represent the Company in a friendly and professional manner.
Duties and responsibilities:
Load and unload fence trucks.
Gather and organize necessary materials, tool and equipment for each fence installation job.
Measure, cut, and prepare fence materials such as posts, panels, rails and hardware according to project specifications.
Install, repair, relocate and pick-up various types of fencing. Including digging post holes using manual tools or machinery. Ensure proper alignment and accuracy.
Report to supervisor every morning to receive job assignments.
Must be able to follow instructions, communicate any issues or concerns and collaborate with others to ensure smooth working operations.
Perform job duties in a safe manner and follow all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and maintain vehicle in good, clean operating condition.
Participate in safety meetings.
Clean, maintain and organize tools, equipment and vehicles used, report and damage or malfunction to supervisor.
Assist co-workers whenever necessary and other duties as assigned by Management.
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Prior fence installation experience is preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to use basic tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Forklift experience preferred.
Be familiar with fence material(s).
Ability to lift 40+lb and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
Prolonged periods of standing, bending, sitting, kneeling
Strong work ethic and communication skills ability to give attention to detail and work well as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
Basic mathematical skills for measuring and cutting materials.
Prioritize safety
Valid drivers license (may be required)
