The main responsibility of the maintenance handyman is to keep the facility’s electrical, plumbing, façade, and grounds in good condition by identifying problems, responding to and fixing problems, and preventing potential issues. The maintenance handyman is responsible for interacting with vendors related to the maintenance, and repair of facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. Knowledge of basic electrical principles to understand safety, connections, emergency shut-off procedures, and basic troubleshooting.
Knowledge of basic plumbing to understand safety, connections, emergency shut-off procedures, and basic troubleshooting including replacement of faucets or sections of pipes.
Knowledge and understanding of landscaping.
Three years of experience working as a handyman or as a maintenance crew in industrial facilities.
Maintenance experience in minor electrical, plumbing/heating, carpentry work, irrigation systems, and outdoor and indoor painting.
Maintain and keep tools, materials, equipment, and supplies in proper operating order, neatness, and organized storage.
Knowledge of tools and understanding of use for drills, saws, blowers, mowers, weed whackers, shrub cutters, trimmers, non-contact volt testers, receptacle testers, and multi-meter test equipment,
Good numerical skills.
Proficient in word and excel.
Experience with maintenance and safety using maintenance vehicles including trucks tractors, front-end loaders, trailers, backhoes, bulldozers, mowers, and weeders.
Knowledge of masonry and concrete work.
Experience with pavers installation
Knowledgeable in the manufacturing of adobe bricks preferred but not required.
