Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation, including drafting legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information for cases.
- Organize and maintain case files, including indexing and filing documents.
- Prepare and file court documents, such as motions, briefs, and subpoenas.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and other meetings.
- Coordinate with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel to gather necessary information.
- Perform administrative tasks such as data entry, answering phone calls, scheduling Zoom meetings, and managing calendars.
- Assist with trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing trial binders.
- Maintain confidentiality of client information.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation secretary or paralegal.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and Adobe Acrobat DC Pro.
- Experience with file management systems and document management software.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
