Job Description
The Bailey Law Firm is looking for a hard-working, honest, independent, and knowledgeable person to fill the position of Paralegal in our Firm. We are an expanding firm looking for someone who can work in a fast-paced, litigation-oriented environment. The ideal candidate would have a paralegal certificate and 3+ years of office experience. An exception for the paralegal certificate may be made for an individual with extensive office experience.
Responsibilities and Duties
Drafting discovery, motions, and pleadings under attorney supervision.
Calendaring and managing statutory deadlines.
Legal research.
Scheduling depositions.
Filing court documents.
Document review and editing.
Managing firm's calendar.
General oversight of the office’s day-to-day tasks.
Closely communicating with clients.
Communicating with the Court and opposing counsel.
Qualifications and Skills
Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational, and administrative skills. Attention to detail is a must.
Must possess strong procedural knowledge and be able to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently.
High School Diploma or GED required.
2 + years of college education preferred.
A paralegal certificate is highly preferred.
Familiarity with Microsoft Suite Office, Google Drive, Adobe Acrobat, Clio, and Odyssey E-filing
1-year paralegal experience required.
Business law, civil litigation, and estate planning law experience a plus.
Must have a valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, and working vehicle if local.
Must have a reliable high-speed internet connection if working remotely.
Compensation is dependent on experience.
