Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Machinist and Setup Specialist to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machinery, including lathes, mills, and other precision equipment, ensuring high-quality production runs, and optimizing machining processes. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with expertise in CNC programming, troubleshooting, and machine setup.
Responsibilities:
Set up and operate CNC machines (vertical lathes and mills) to produce precision parts.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining operations.
Perform machine setups, tool changes, and adjustments to ensure correct operation.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to machine performance, part quality, and setup errors.
Monitor and control machine operations during production runs to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
Inspect finished products using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, CMM’s and gauges.
Maintain and clean CNC machines and tooling to ensure proper functioning.
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures.
Perform routine preventative maintenance on machines.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist and Setup Specialist or similar role.
Strong understanding of CNC machine operations, including vertical mills and lathes.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
Experience with CNC programming (G-code and M-code) is a must.
Familiarity with CAD/CAM software is preferred.
Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues effectively.
Strong mathematical skills for measurements and calculations.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of quality control standards and procedures.
Experience:
2+ years of experience in CNC machining and machine setup.
