Excited, unique clinical opportunity in the field of mindfulness and relationship-based psychiatric recovery. Windhorse Integrative Mental Health (ww.windhorseimh.org), a progressive non-profit organization since 1993, is seeking a Team Counselor and Respite Team Counselor for our San Luis Obispo, California office. Windhorse uses multi-disciplinary clinical teams and therapeutic households in the community to support the recovery journey of people experiencing various mental health challenges. Requirements: Masters degree (or Bachelors degree with equivalent experience) in social work or counseling psychology. Must be willing and available to work weekends and evenings and to attend trainings, supervision and team meetings during the day. Personal contemplative practice a huge plus for this work, such as yoga or meditation.

Responsibilities for Team Counselor: Serve as team counselor on one or more client teams, under the supervision of a team leader. Participate in team approach of assisting clients on their journey of recovery. Provide "Basic Attendance" shifts with the client in his/her household or the community (hiking, volunteer work, coffee shop, errands, etc.) for approximately 3 hours per shift, 2-3 times per week. Compose clinical log notes after each shift. Integrate and collaborate with the larger team.
Responsibilities for Respite Team Counselor: Serve as a respite team counselor for teams, providing fill in coverage for “Basic Attendance” shifts with the client in his/her household or the community for approximately 3 hour shifts. Weekend and evening coverage is likely.
