Position for Receptionist / Office Assistant for busy veterinary hospital (San Luis Obispo)
Office / admin. role; part time initially with potential for full time position.
Responsibilities include answering phones, scheduling patients, and preparing patient charts for an efficient workflow of patient care. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential due to the great amount of client interaction. Social media and web savvy candidates encouraged to apply!
The ideal candidate would possess an honest work ethic, superior organizational skills, great verbal and written communication, proficient computer knowledge, attention to detail is a must, excellent problem solving techniques required, and previous experience and basic understanding of horses and equine health issues are pluses.
General duties will include, but are not limited to:
Greet all clientele with a warm welcome
Answer telephones with a professional and friendly approach
Collect, verify and input all client/patient information precisely
Manage office flow by scheduling patient appointments
Facilitate incoming clients and patients, including emergency calls
Assist other front office and veterinary staff as needed
Candidate qualifications:
Friendly demeanor with ability to build positive rapport

Precise attention to detail
Proficient organizational skills
Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of MS Office and relevant practice management software
Excited to grow skills set
Experience with horses and other animals plus receptionist or front desk experience is a plus.
