Job Summary
SLO Camp N’ Pack is looking for a friendly, motivated, and reliable Retail Sales Associate to join our team. We specialize in outdoor gear, military surplus, and camping supplies, and we pride ourselves on helping customers find the right equipment for their adventures. In this role, you’ll provide excellent customer service, assist with purchases, and help maintain an organized, welcoming store environment. The ideal candidate enjoys the outdoors, has an interest in gear and surplus items, and thrives in a customer-focused setting.
Duties:
Greet and assist customers with questions about outdoor gear, surplus items, and camping supplies
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for purchases, returns, and cash handling
Stock shelves, rotate merchandise, and keep the sales floor clean and organized
Share product knowledge and demonstrate features/benefits to help customers make informed decisions
Support store promotions and assist in upselling where appropriate
Answer phone inquiries professionally and direct customers as needed
Assist with inventory management, restocking, and merchandising displays
Contribute to a positive team atmosphere and provide support to coworkers
Experience
Previous retail or customer service experience preferred, but not required — we’re willing to train the right person
Interest in outdoor gear, camping, or military surplus is a plus
Comfortable using a POS system and handling basic cash transactions
Strong communication and people skills; bilingual candidates encouraged to apply
Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
