Design Consultant - Window Coverings

We are a family-owned business, seeking a window covering design consultant. A typical work week is Monday through Friday 8am-5pm, driving our company vehicle to set appointments to meet with customers, measure windows, show product samples, provide quote for job, and follow up. You would also be responsible for customer service. We provide a company vehicle to drive to customer appointments, and all product samples and tools needed to perform the job. We would love to find someone with in home-sales experience in window coverings, but are willing to train the right person!

Position Overview:

We are seeking a motivated Window Covering Design Consultant to join our team. The Design Consultant will play a critical role in driving sales, providing exceptional customer service, and helping customers find the perfect window coverings for their needs. The ideal candidate should have a strong sales background, excellent communication skills, and a passion for interior design (or willingness to learn).

Responsibilities:

Sales and Customer Service:

Greet customers, understand their window covering goals, and provide expert advice on window covering options.

Present product options, features, and benefits to customers in a persuasive and informative manner.

Assist customers in selecting the most suitable window coverings based on their preferences, budget, and specific needs.

Provide accurate measurements and quotes to customers, ensuring precise ordering and installation.

Return customer calls regarding warranty information, order updates, general business questions, etc.

Product Knowledge:

Stay updated on the latest trends, materials, and technologies in the window covering industry.

Have a comprehensive understanding of the features and benefits of different types of window coverings, including blinds, shades, shutters, and draperies.

Educate customers on product options, including fabric choices, operating systems, motorization, and energy efficiency.

Relationship Building:

Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to foster repeat business and referrals.

Follow up with customers after the sale to ensure their satisfaction and address any concerns.

Collaborate with interior designers, contractors, and other industry professionals to generate leads and build partnerships.

Sales Administration:

Accurately enter and manage customer information, sales orders, and product specifications into the CRM system.

Coordinate with the installation team to ensure smooth order fulfillment and timely installation.

Stay organized and maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales activities, and follow-ups.

Industry Networking:

May need to attend occasional conference/training to stay informed on product changes.

Network with local interior designers, builders, real estate agents, and other professionals to expand the business's reach and customer base.

Qualifications:

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with customers and build relationships.

Detail-oriented with strong organizational and administrative skills.

Excellent product knowledge and the ability to educate customers on various window covering options.

Ability to lift 25 pounds, drive in accordance with CA laws, climb ladder to measure windows, use measuring tape, record accurate measurements.

Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.

Proven sales experience, preferably in the window covering industry or a related field.

Proficient in using CRM systems, MS Office, and other relevant software applications.

Occasional evening or weekend hours may be requested for customers needing after typical hours appointments.
