Organizational Structure

Reports To: Project Manager

Overview

Manage, review, and schedule production and installation of client projects. This includes estimating, project management, implementation and quality control to the final walkthrough. Applicant must have strong working field knowledge with experience in constructing gardens and landscape features. Must have experience supervising and disciplining crew on matters regarding safety, tools, clientele and quality of work. Must be able to communicate with client and be point liaison for client, crews and construction manager. Lead and manage the construction crew with effective and positive communication, and a positive “solutions-driven” attitude, bi-lingual strongly suggested. Be responsible for the proper maintenance of vehicles and equipment. Read and accurately interpret scaled construction plans to layout and build landscape projects.

Scope of Services

 Manage Production/Installation

Assist with managing construction crews, overseeing and maintaining a high level of quality control, and increasing

productivity

Ensure equipment is maintained and repaired when required

Assist with ordering and delivery of project materials

Maintain crew compliance with safety policies and regulations

Oversee project budget and line item tracking

o Code time sheets for Project Manager review.

o Code receipts for Project Manager review.

Read and apply project contracts.

Perform plan take-offs to square-feet and cubic yards of material

Read construction plans and build landscape projects which include, but are not limited to

o Wet and dry-laid, natural and concrete-paver hardscape construction

o Mortared/concrete, dry-stacked rustic or fabricated Allen block/Europa walls and stairs, Finished concrete, Drainage

systems, Pond construction, etc.

o Wood working – constructing arbors, pergolas, fences, decks, priming, and painting

o Automatic/in-line/multi-zone irrigation systems

o Wiring and programming clocks, Landscape low-voltage lighting installation, programming transformers

Make sure vehicles and equipment are in properly maintained and ready for use

o Maintain clean cabin, bed, tool boxes, and engine compartment

o Oil, grease, and properly store all equipment as required, check engine oil level at each refueling, and conduct a

daily circle check of truck

o Inspect and clean air filters regularly and at the start of each new job

o Notify Project Manager 50 miles/10 hrs prior to next required professional maintenance and schedule accordingly.

o Maintain organized construction yard and delegate to foremen to keep yard organized

o Maintain tight inventory control on foremen trailers. Hold foremen accountable to take care of and keep track of

tools.

Document all maintenance and accidents in writing, contact the Project Manager for immediate assistance if needed

 Human Resources

Lead crews by example with a positive “solutions-driven” attitude, avoiding problems with other crew members

Ensure the use of all appropriate OSHA approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE-Safety) where necessary and

follow proper safety guidelines in regards to crewmember hydration, nourishment, and necessary breaks

Document all crew training, including on the job.

Accurately complete all required employee paperwork in a timely manner including

Swap out memory cards for photo documentation and upload to client folder

 General assistance with operations

Liaise with construction manager in project progress, approval for overtime, credit card purchases, personal vehicle

use for work purposes, any finance related change or activity, signed change orders with clients

Opening and closing checklists

Assist with bidding projects and design input

Assist crews as needed to advance projects

Coordinate material delivery with foremen to maximize production.

 Position Statistics

Assist Project Manager with quantity take-off and bids as required.

 Must be computer literate and proficient with the Microsoft suite.
