The Center for Health Research (CHR) is recruiting a part-time student Media & Graphics Coordinator with web experience. CHR, housed in the Kinesiology Department, is a cross disciplinary network of faculty researchers, students, and staff studying methods to improve family health and reduce long-term chronic disease. This Graphics Student Assistant will be responsible for maintaining our website and online presence, and also helping to beautify program and recruitment materials.

This is a unique opportunity for students with background and interest in communications and graphics, web design and social media. He/she will have two responsibilities: to work on the design of materials for research participants and recruitment and to update our websites (housed on the Cal Poly site). We are looking for an independent worker who can help us to keep students, collaborators and participants up to date with our research and projects through social media. She/he will work under the Center's project coordinator and principal investigator.

Desired Professional and Technical Skills:

• Experience with web design, and specific experience using Drupal

• Working knowledge of Adobe CS3+ Programs including Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator is preferred

• Must be a Cal Poly student with junior or senior status

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

• Ability to multi-task, think critically and troubleshoot

• Personal qualities of determination, organization and flexibility

• Willingness to accept challenges

• Interest or passion in health, fitness and/or nutrition is a plus
