Audiologist

Audiologists are specialists who diagnose, treat and providing ongoing management to patients who suffer from hearing, balance or other related disorders of the ear and/or hearing. Audiologists provide personalized services to minimize the negative impact of these disorders, as well as help with education and prevention leading to improved outcomes and patient quality of life. The Audiologist will work in a variety of settings and can specialize in pediatrics, geriatrics, balance, cochlear implants, hearing aids, tinnitus, and auditory processing among other various clinical specialties. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Administers and interprets audiological tests, develops a treatment plan, and establishes goals for each patient. Monitors progress of recommendations and treatment plans and reassesses as appropriate

Provides tinnitus counseling and rehabilitation when indicated

Advises on the selection, fitting and evaluation of hearing aids

Responsible for repairing and maintaining hearing aids

Operates and calibrates audiometric equipment

Provides rehabilitative audiological services including counseling them and advising them on wearing hearing aids and hearing tactics

Calibrates equipment, prepares related reports, and maintains the audiological suite, materials, and supplies

Communicates with patient and family and provides counseling when appropriate

Documents timely per facility protocol

Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

Current state license as an Audiologist preferred.

Graduate or four-year degree program accredited by the American Speech and Hearing Association, and holds or is eligible for a certificate of clinical competence granted by the American Speech and Hearing Association preferred.

Minimum of one year in audiology preferred

Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

Participation and completion of Amergis’ Competency program when applicable

Current CPR if applicable

TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site

Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements

Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required

Computer proficiency required

Must be at least 18 years of age
