GP Landscape, a full service landscape company is currently seeking an Irrigation Technician for its Stockton location.
This is an hourly position, which is skilled work that requires significant knowledge and skills related to landscape irrigation, installation and maintenance of irrigation systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for the maintenance and repair of irrigation systems.
Responsible for the installation and programming of time clocks that operate irrigation systems.
Responsible for making necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain all systems in proper working condition.
Responsible of submit bills and record the hours spent on each job.
Responsible for the inventory of parts, supplies and equipment of irrigation systems.
Conducts regular system inspections and performs trouble shooting exercise.
Performs related work as required and as directed.
KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS
Considerable knowledge in the field of irrigation, installation, maintenance and repairs.
Knowledge of the occupational hazards of the trade and of the proper use of safety practices.
Ability to diagnose problems and make necessary repairs and adjustments to maintain all systems in proper working conditions.
Ability to install time clocks and operate irrigation systems.
Ability to maintain records and submit reports on conditions of all irrigation systems.
Ability to work a flexible schedule as required.
Ability to assist in supervising work crew, as directed.
Ability to inventory parts, supplies and equipment of irrigation systems.
Ability to install valve program for irrigation systems.
Ability to operate various pieces of maintenance equipment.
Ability to understand and carry out instructions and to complete work assignments correctly.
Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under hot and humid conditions.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors, other employees and at time customers.
Ability to operate Company vehicle and possess a valid driver's license require.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING
High School or vocational school, considerable experience in the maintenance and installation to irrigation systems, or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, abilities and skills may be considered
