Overview
The PM Service Technician will be responsible for performing routine 90 Day BIT Inspections and assessments of truck and trailer parts related to the BIT (Basic Inspection of Terminals) program. This technician will ensure compliance with the safety standards and regulations set by federal and state authorities. This role involves conducting detailed inspections of truck components, diagnosing issues, and assisting in necessary repairs to ensure the safe operation of fleet vehicles
Responsibilities
· 90-day inspections: Perform thorough inspections of all components of trucks and trailers, including brakes, tires, lights, steering, suspension, and more, in compliance with the BIT program requirements.
· Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance performed, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company regulations
· Identify potential defects or unsafe conditions and recommend or assist with corrective actions, repairs, or part replacements as needed.
· Ensure that all vehicles are in full compliance with safety standards and BIT regulations, performing necessary checks and tests for safety and functionality.
· Communicate findings to management regarding any potential vehicle issues and escalate urgent problems to senior technicians or supervisors for immediate attention.
· Assist in the ongoing maintenance of the trucking fleet, when tasked with, to ensure the equipment is operational and roadworthy for dispatch.
· Work closely with the mechanics and other departments to ensure the efficient and timely completion of inspections and necessary repairs.
· Diagnosing and repairing air leaks and light problems
· Diagnosing cooling system issues such as coolant leaks
· Participating in shop clean up and reorganization at the end of each workday
· Working in a safe and efficient manner and adhering to all safety policies and regulations as set forth by the Company and Cal OSHA and MSHA
Skills
Proficient in diesel engines with a strong understanding of maintenance practices.
Experience working with industrial equipment is essential.
Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and efficiently.
Skilled in using hand tools for various mechanical tasks.
Knowledge of hydraulic systems and their components is preferred.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose mechanical issues accurately.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and customers.

Pay: $25.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
