We are a small town machine shop looking to hire a self driven Journeymen Manual Machinist.
The ideal candidate will possess manual dexterity and attention to detail. They must have strong knowledge of mathematics, mechanics, and safety precautions.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Review samples and drawings to understand output specifications.
Develop a plan of action for job completion.
Measure and mark material for cutting or shaping.
Select appropriate machines and position or load material.
Program size of batches, speed of machine, etc.
Monitor machines.
Adjust the feed, maintain temperature, and identify issues.
Check output to ensure consistency with specifications.
Record approved and defective units.
Perform routine machine maintenance and repair minor damages.
Qualifications:
5+ years of machining experience.
Able to learn the trade for a Journeyman Machinists.
Strong understanding of blueprints, material characteristics, and behavior during Machining.
Knowledge of speeds, feeds, and tooling.
Candidates must have their own tools.
