Overview of Stockton Civic Theatre (SCT): Stockton Civic Theatre is a non-profit community theatre located in the central valley of California since 1951. This community organization has a 295 seat mainstage theatre and a 65-seat Black Box Theatre. Each year SCT produces a season that includes musicals, dramas and comedies. SCT has Stockton Civic Theatre, Jr, a summer musical theatre program for youth grades 3 thru 12.
Qualifications: 1) Expert in Accounting; 2) Knowledge of Quickbooks, non-profit organizations, contracts, Federal and State laws regarding accounting and non-profit organizations, payroll, and budget preparation and procedures.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Reviews, approves the payment of all bills and all related taxes in a timely manner to maintain Stockton Civic Theatre’s good credit standing and to avoid any late fees.
Jointly with Artistic Director(AD), sets up guidelines and procedures to insure materials and services purchased are authorized and charged to correct accounts.
Reconciles all bank accounts/deposits of Stockton Civic Theatre.
Process payroll bi-weekly paying all applicable taxes and fees
Monitors production budgets
Jointly with the AD, VP Finance and Finance Committee, prepares and reviews the Annual Budget to present to the Board.
Works with insurance agents to assure SCT compliance with policy requirements. In the event of a claim, works with insurance agent/adjuster to settle any issues.
Maintains security of financial records and files of Stockton Civic Theatre.
Maintains insurance of building and warranties of equipment.
Works with Homeowners Association and Rental agency resolving issues as they arise.
Jointly with the AD, prepares, reviews and enforces rental contracts to assure SCT is protected and appropriately compensated.
Works to assure that all government policies and regulations including but not limited to ADA are adhered to by SCT
Arranges for maintenance/repair for the building and property including but not limited to HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
Hours and Pay: 15-20 hours/week. Pay commensurate with experience; $23-25/hour
