Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive mechanical knowledge and experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy diesel equipment. This role involves working with a variety of engines. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems, including transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and electrical components.
Perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment and vehicles to ensure optimal performance.
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot issues effectively.
Conduct alignment checks and adjustments on various machinery.
Collaborate with team members to complete complex repairs and assembly tasks.
Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, heavy equipment operation, and tractor-trailers
Familiarity with fabrication techniques and the ability to perform welding tasks as needed.
Experience working with various types of diesel engines - Cummins, Volvo, and Detroit.
Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and performing tire service tasks.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, shocks & struts, brake repair, suspension systems, and assembly processes.
Ability to lift heavy objects safely as required by the job duties.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on attention to detail in all repairs performed.
