We’re looking for a shop manager to lead our skilled team of steel fabricators and installers. Candidate will oversee all aspects of the bidding process through installation of our projects. We need someone who thrives at running a fabrication shop and taking on a huge variety of work. This position reports directly to and only with the owner.
The ideal candidate has:
5 + years of experience in Steel fabrication and installation, comfortable with all aspects from start to finish: Estimating, shop fabrication and installation.
Experience working closely with general contractors
Experience building in both shop and jobsite environments
The ability to manage a team and has multiple years of experience doing so
An eye for detail and the skill to execute
A positive, focused, energetic and flexible attitude
Communication skills with shop employees as well as general contractors.
Shop Manager Responsibilities :
Manage fabrication employees. Maintain adequete work force.
Lead the fabrication, delivery and installation of all projects
Manage schedule, budget and quality control of all projects
Assist with estimating
Order materials and manage flow in and out of shop
Identify and schedule repairs/maintenance for shop tools and equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
5+ years experience working in a shop environment.
Exceptional skill with metal fabrication
Ability to read and work off shop drawings
Ability to lift at least 50 lbs
Professionalism and communication skills
Flexibility and willingness to get jobs over the finish line on budget, on time, and meet client expectations
