Direct Report: Terminal Manager
Scope of Responsibilities: Troubleshoot, maintain and repair all terminal machinery and equipment. Focus on routine preventative maintenance with a proactive approach to ensure continued uninterrupted terminal operations. Respond swiftly to breakdowns as they occur, including after-hours callouts.
Essential Knowledge and Abilities: Mechanical background familiar with the basic concepts of machinery components and functions. Capable of understanding machinery diagrams, schematics, engineering drawings, installation and maintenance instructions / manuals etc. Competent understanding of pneumatic valves, actuators, cylinders. mechanical rotary, slide and butterfly valves, bag-type dust collectors, blower compressors, screw pumps, and other equipment. Basic troubleshooting skills to effectively diagnose and assess machine operations and performance. Competent in the use and operation of the tools of the trade, power tools, grinders, drill press, etc. Strong knowledge and understanding of electrical process controls and components. Able to perform electrical troubleshooting and repair. Able to read and understand basic electrical diagrams and schematics. PLC knowledge a plus. Competent knowledge and experience using forklift truck, mobile equipment work platform, and other similar equipment.
Terminal Operations: As an effective part of our maintenance team all maintenance personnel are required to be competent in terminal operations. Must be able to learn and understand the process and flow of cement product through the terminal including ship unloading operations through truck and railcar loading operations. All mechanics are required to gain and maintain sufficient operational skills to support Operational Employees / Utility Operators.
